Special Needs Assistant Panel
Louth and Meath Education & Training Board (LMETB) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the formation of a panel of Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) to fill vacancies that may arise in Cara Community Special School.
Essential Criteria
The minimum standard required for the appointment to an SNA position is:
• A QQI Level 3 major qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications, or
• A minimum of three grade D's in the Junior Certificate or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
• A QQI Level 5 or Level 6 Major Award in SNA or a related discipline.
• Proven experience supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A caring, patient and flexible approach.
• Experience of working with students in Special Classes/Special Schools
It is intended to form a panel from which ongoing, fixed-term and part-time Special Needs Assistant vacancies that arise during the lifetime of the panel may be filled. Inclusion on the panel is subject to LMETB Garda Vetting. LMETB Garda Vetting will be sought in accordance with the National Vetting Bureau Act, 2014. This process will commence prior to appointment. Appointment to LMETB is subject to receipt of a satisfactory disclosure from the National Vetting Bureau. Please note that the Garda Vetting disclosure must be in place prior to commencement.
All SNA positions are subject to the position not being required under the National SNA Redeployment Scheme operated by the NCSE with the support of the Department of Education and Youth.
